Admitting Department

There are two admitting departments that are in operation under the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre.

The admitting department located at the 5th Avenue site is responsible for all in-patient admissions into the 5th Avenue location and all admissions into the William George Extended Care Facility.

The admitting department located at the 7th Avenue site is responsible for all in-patient admissions into the 7th Avenue location.

Both admitting departments are responsible for patient registration and updating client information in the database, providing switchboard services to the hospital and its departments, providing reception services to patients and visitors, sorting mail and are responsible for accepting accounts/bill payments.

The admitting department currently has 18 staff members and the hours of operation are:

5th Avenue site - open 24 hours / 7 days a week

7th Avenue site - open 7 am - 7 pm Monday to Friday

                        - open 7 am - 3 pm Saturday and Sunday
