Decision Support / Quality Improvement Plans (QIP)
Our main goal is to provide high-quality, individualized care that is innovative, meets best practice standards and reflects our awareness of cultural safety. In SLMHC, the Decision Support /QIP is responsible for the data management and analysis, providing organizational wide operational support to the clinical and non-clinical departments as needed. SLMHC is delivering a high level of care in new and existing services, through the creation and tracking of appropriate metrics.
The Decision Support / Quality Improvement Plans (QIP) supports the leadership and committees in developing, maintaining the databases of reports and tracking performance indicators in alignment with SLMHC’s strategic direction. The department works collaboratively, with the healthcare teams to identify and communicate the performance improvement opportunities. Additionally, the Decision Support Analyst is responsible to provide the information and analysis of data to help determine appropriate targets and action plans, to address issues and improve the data utilization/management.
Furthermore, by performing the comparative data analysis (e.g., with the LHIN or regional data and with the internal data) to determine similarities, differences, and trends in SLMHC service needs. Ad hoc analysis to support the special projects, liaising with key stakeholders to fully define analytical requirements are also under the scope of Decision Support / Quality Improvement Plans (QIP).
