  • Ultrasound – Use of high frequency sound waves for assessment of joints and various soft tissue structures in the abdomen, brain, heart, neck, shoulder, and blood vessels
  • Cardio-Respiratory services – ECGs, holter monitoring, simple spirometry, full pulmonary function testing and stress testing

We also offer mobile ultrasound services in 17 First Nation communities and are affiliated with the Basic Radiography Workers (BRW) program, which allows graduates to provide basic x-ray services in the Community Health Centers, which are interpreted in Sioux Lookout.

Most of our Diagnostic Imaging equipment has been computerized and is linked with a regional Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS), exhibiting the leading edge of technology. This improves the efficiency, quality and patient care during each exam undertaken. Images can be sent or retrieved from across North Western Ontario and beyond within minutes, allowing for timely diagnosis without the need for a specialist directly on site.

Five First Nation communities are also equipped with this equipment, thus improving quality, timely diagnosis, delays in treatment and un-necessary movement of patients out of the communities.
