It also provides services for the Northern First Nation communities served by the Health Centre, other agencies may obtain fee-for-service components. We also offer a “walk – in” collection service for the community of Sioux Lookout from Monday – Friday, 0800 – 1630 hours.

In August 2005, the SLMHC Laboratory was awarded a 5 year Ontario Laboratory Accreditation Certificate from the Quality Management Program - Laboratory Services (QMP - LS), a division of the Ontario Medical Association. The Laboratory is an active participant in the Kenora Rainy River Regional Laboratory Program (KRR RLP) based out of Dryden along with the five other hospitals in the Northwestern Ontario region. The working group maintains constant dialogue and a sharing of resources to improve quality and maximize the efforts of the individual laboratories with the goal to provide a high level of service to our clients.
