Pharmacy Services
The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre Pharmacy is an inpatient pharmacy service. The department provides medication for inpatients as prescribed by phyicians during their stay in hospital. We also provide drug information to medical and nursing staff and to patients and family upon request. In addition, we are a satellite of the Thunder Bay Regional Cancer Centre for the ongoing cancer chemotherapy of area residents.
The pharmacy department assists in the coordination of seamless care for medications. A seamless care form is used which lists medications the patient was taking prior to admission and notes the medications the patient is to continue taking after discharge. For this reason it is recommended that patients bring their medications from home when admitted to hospital.
The pharmacy department is located in the lower level of the 7th Avenue Site. The hours of oepration are 0730 - 1600 hours, Monday to Friday. The telephone contact number for the pharmacy is 737-3030 extension 2122.
Current pharmacy department staff consists of one pharmacist, one pharmacy aide and two technicians. We also utilize a telepharmacy service to provide addtional pharmacy coverage.
