The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre is an innovative and growing hospital which officially opened the doors to its brand new, state of the art facility in October, 2010. Our mission, vision and values are based on the principles of health, wellness, well-being and wholeness through holistic healing. We serve the thriving community of Sioux Lookout as well as more than 25,000 First Nations people from the surrounding region.
We are a hospital based health centre focused on the continuum of primary health care services including a broad range of basic and some specialist hospital services, specialized community-based programs and services responding to population health needs. We are fully accredited and are striving to become a Centre of Excellence.
Currently, our staffing consists of over 350 healthcare professionals and administrative and support personnel, all dedicated to excellence in patient care. Because the majority of the people we serve come from First Nation communities, our staff is open to working with and learning from different cultures. Hospital interpreter services are available 24/7 which helps to facilitate the provision of culturally appropriate quality care.
